Your Questions About Dentist Games

Michael asks…

In dire need of a good and colorful desktop calendar!?

Does anyone know of an easy to use calendar that i dont have to access my email to use and appeals to the eye and isnt a widget or a gadget or anything like that. All I need is a artsy and colorful calendar that i can put reminders into and when the day comes around a little pop up will come on the screen with a little “ping” or something and tell me that today i have a dentist appointment or something and i dont want it to be some family thing where we all put our soccer games or dance recitals on it. I would like it to be easy to use with simple event adders. sorry to be so demanding but ive been searching forever for a nice calendar but to no avail.

thanks

What’s the name of this board game?

There’s this game that came out a few years ago. It had a plastic alligator with a huge open mouth, and you had to like, remove it’s teeth or something without it’s mouth chomping down on your hand. I know the title had ‘Dentist‘ or ‘Tooth’ or ‘Dental’ in it. What’s this game called?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

It was actually a crocodile (i always mix them up!)

It’s called Crocodile Dentist. Here’s a link:

Ruth asks…

I’m expecting my 1st child soon but my hus is so “involved” with his son from his 1st marriage?

hes not as thrilled as i am.He has joint custody and sees his son 50%.I have asked him to go with me to my ob appts. but hes allways “too busy” at work but will drop everything to help his ex if she can’t take thier son to the dr. or dentist. He allways goes to ALL his sons games/school activites whenever they are and helps out.I have to plan anything i want him to do(our baby stuff) around his schedule.now some of this maybe from the guilt over the divorce(over 6 yr ago) but i was told by many he was very involved with his 1st child before the divorce(went to ALL the ob appts.,talked about it all the time, went screaming thru the hospital “I HAVE A SON” ect)Now i love my stepson very much and i just wished my husband showed as much excitment about our baby as he did/does to his 1st son.I have talked to him about it but he gets defensive and denies it but actions speak louder than words. Is this just normal because the 1st child is allways the favorite?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

It is a little different with your second child. My husband was much more excited when we had our first. He went to every appointment and was really involved in everything having to do with the baby. With our second he wasn’t as interested during the pregnancy. I’m sure when the baby is here your husband will be very excited and of course be completely in love with the baby. But don’t be too surprised if he still is more involved with his son. Newborns can’t really interact too much and he may not bond right away.He also may not want his son to get jealous of the new baby and end up paying more attention to him for this reason. He probably will feel a little closer to his first born at first because they have been bonding for years. I don’t think that his son will always be his favorite. He will eventually bond with the new baby. Especially since he will have full custody of this baby. Don’t give up on him just yet.

Charles asks…

Excuses to get out of this?

So my club video tapes school sports games for middle and high schools. Tomorrow is a game but I am getting sick and I really don’t think I should go. But I’ll be at school tomorrow, so I don’t think they would fall for this “i’m sick” excuse. I have a dentist appointment coming up. Should I just use that?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Speaking as a Dentist, a lot of our younger patients like to use us as an excuse to get out of school. As long as you show up to the dental appointment and get a note, it should be okay. Your dentist might charge you for a note though – we charge $25 for a note like this at my clinic.

Michael asks…

only answer if you are a dentist.do dentist get paid a lot if they work for the nhs give me the average salary?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Why should only dentists answer? It’s not like they’re going to know any better than anyone else, that kind of information is freely available. Also you need an introductory course to online etiquette, if not basic good manners; the use of the word “please” wouldn’t kill you.

Maria asks…

What is an average salary for American dentists (who speak French) in Paris?

I’m thinking of doing this when I finish with college. Just wondering how much I would make.
to reinaldok_2000: I realize the legality of this situation will require me to get a visa, and I will be doing so. I intend to study in the US before moving to Paris also.

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

You can perfectly work as a dentist in France fi you follow what Cabal told you.

My dentist is French / American, works in Paris, he’s brillant and earns more than 12000 euros per month but you can’t specultate on how much you could earn as this depends on your career, diplomas, ability to introduce yourself on the French society and ability on doing business … My dentist (former dentist as he has just retired) is member of a very select club and is also an antiques collector, between his clients, 2 former USA Presidents and the wife of one of them who is now membr of the government. Of course, this is an exception but if you’re really motivated, all is possible.

My dentist’s studies :

- Chirurgien dentiste de la faculté de médecine de Paris
- Diplômé de l’Ecole dentaire de Paris
- Docteur en Sciences Odontologiques
- Membre du corps enseignant à l’école dentaire de Paris
- P.G. University of Boston
- Professeur associé Emoxy University Atlanta

Just follow your dreams but I think that you can earn much more working in LA

Mandy asks…

Im 16 yrs old & want to get a job filing at my dentist’s office. Whats the average salary 4 that kind of job?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

You have to be over 18 before a medical or dental office will hire you because of privacy laws. They dont want a young high school student seeing confidential medical records. You have to be 18 before they will consider hiring you. And they usually dont hire people who are not experienced in dental office work. There is no “filing” job. There is only reception jobs and dental office manager jobs at a dental office. So dont bother applying cause they wont hire a 16 year old.

Jokes for Women and some other gender jokes?

before the jokes just won’t to let you know I’m not trying to offend anyone I’m good person don’t judge me by jokes

Man: Haven’t I seen you someplace before?
Woman: Yes, that’s why I don’t go there anymore.

Man: Is this seat empty?
Woman: Yes, and this one will be if you sit down.

Man: Your place or mine?
Woman: Both. You go to yours, and I’ll go to mine.

Man: So, what do you do for a living?
Woman: I’m a female impersonator.

Man: Hey baby, what’s your sign?
Woman: Do not enter.

Man: How do you like your eggs in the morning?
Woman: Unfertilized.

Man: If I could see you naked, I’d die happy.
Woman: If I saw you naked, I’d probably die laughing.

Man: Your body is like a temple.
Woman: Sorry, there are no services today.

Man: I would go to the end of the world for you.
Woman: But would you stay there?

RELATIONSHIPS: When a relationship ends, a woman will cry and pour her heart out to her girlfriends, and she will write a poem titled ‘All Men Are Idiots’ Then she will get on with her life.

A man has a little more trouble letting go. Six months after the breakup, at 3:00 a.m. on a Saturday night, he will call and say, ‘I just called to let you know you ruined my life, and I’ll never forgive you, and I hate you, and you’re a total floozy. But, I want you to know that there’s always a chance for us.’

This is known as the ‘I Hate You I Love You’ drunken phone call, and 99% of all men have made it at least once. There are community colleges that offer courses to help men get over this need.

LOCKER ROOMS: In the locker room men talk about three things: money, football, and women. They exaggerate about money, they don’t know football nearly as well as they think they do, and they fabricate stories about women. Women talk about one thing in the locker: sex. And not in abstract terms, either. They are extremely graphic and technical, and they never lie.

MATURITY: Women mature much faster than men. Most 17-year old females can function as adults. Most 17-year old males are still trading baseball cards and giving each other wedgies after gym class. This is why high school romances rarely work out.

MAGAZINES: Men’s magazines often feature pictures of naked women. Women’s magazines also feature pictures of naked women. This is because the female body is a beautiful work of art, while the male body is lumpy and hairy and shouldn’t be seen by the light of day. Men are turned on at the sight of a naked woman’s body. Most naked men elicit laughter from women.

BATHROOMS: A man has five items in his bathroom – a toothbrush, shaving cream, razor, a bar of Dial soap, and a towel from the Holiday Inn. The average number of items in the typical woman’s bathroom is 437. A man would not be able to identify most of the items.

GROCERIES: A woman makes a list of things she needs and then goes out to the store and buys these things. A man waits till the only items left in his fridge are half a lime and a beer. Then he goes grocery shopping. He buys everything that looks good. By the time a man reaches the checkout counter, his cart is packed tighter than the Clampett’s car on Beverly Hillbillies. Of course, this will not stop him from going to the 10-items-or- less lane.

CATS: Women love cats. Men say they love cats, but when women aren’t looking, men kick cats.

OFFSPRING: Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and soccer games and romances and best friends and favorite foods and secret fears and hopes and dreams. A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

DRESSING UP: A woman will dress up to: go shopping, water the plants, empty the garbage, answer the phone, read a book, get the mail. A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.

LAUNDRY: Women do laundry every couple of days. A man will wear every article of clothing he owns, including his surgical pants that were hip about eight years ago, before he will do his laundry. When he is finally out of clothes, he will wear a dirty sweatshirt inside out, rent a U-Haul and take his mountain of clothes to the Laundromat. Men always expect to meet beautiful women at the Laundromat. This is a myth perpetuated by reruns of old American sitcoms.

MIRRORS: Men are vain; they will check themselves out in a mirror. Women are ridiculous; they will check out their reflections in any shiny surface: mirrors, spoons, store windows, Joe Garagiola’s head.

MENOPAUSE: When a woman reaches menopause, she goes through a variety of complicated emotional, psychological, and biological changes. The nature and degree of these changes varies with the individual. Menopause in a man provokes a uniform reaction…he buys aviator glasses, a snazzy French cap and leather driving gloves, and goes shopping for a Porsche.

William asks…

MEN VS. WOMEN FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY…..IS IT?!?

Men vs. Women
Some subtle (and some not so subtle) differences
Handwriting:

Men: To their credit, men do not decorate their penmanship. They just chicken-scratch.

Women: Women use scented, colored stationery and they dot the “i” with circles or hearts. Women use ridiculously large loops in the “b” and “g”. It is a pain to read a note from a woman. Even when she’s dumping you, she will put a smiley face at the end of the note.

What game am I thinking of?

I’m trying to remember the name of a game I played when I was a little kid. It was a game for the PC. You played as a kid who lived in a big house. There was a literal family tree outside. One of your relatives is a crazy dentist, somehow one of your relatives is Attila the Hun (or something like that), there are two ducks that live upstairs, and there are a few other things that I can’t remember clearly enough to describe. I loved this game so much when I was a kid. I’d really appreciate it if someone knows what I’m talking about and what game it is.

I have an obbsetion with dentists and docotrs?

Im 13. I have an obsesstion with watching videos on YouTube of people at the dentists or people at the doctors getting weighed. I had an old account on here, and made up questions about my teeth falling out rotting or being morbidly obese, yahoo saw it and deleted my account. That was a year ago. The video watching and posting stuff on other websites still goes on. I still play imaginary games about going to the dentist or the doctors. I acculley brought weighing scales to weigh myself on to play these games. I play that I have stuff wrong with my vagina and lie on my bed with my legs open, prodding things about to pretend I’m at the doctors. I’m wanting to make a doctors appointment just to get weighed saying I’m concerned about my weight (I am, but I’m not bothered by it) just cos I think it would be fun and give me a rush. I really really want a dental appointment for a rush as I haven’t seen 1 for 5 years.

Your Questions About Dentistry Schools

Michael asks…

I’m a Grade 12 Student, and I want to apply to a University to get into Dentistry.?

I need to know what Grade 12 courses I need to take to get into Dentistry School. My first degree is Health Studies. I need at least 6 University Courses. I go to St. Edmund Campion Secondary School in Brampton. MAJOR Help Please!

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

I’m also in 12th grade and want to become a dentist.
I am going to Georgia College and State Univ. And will be a Pre-dental major then after four years I will transfer (if accepted) to Georgia Medical College, Auburn Univ. Or Univ. Of FL to get my DMD degree in denistry. You need to find a four-year school with a good pre-dental program, you will be focusing in chemistry and biology so AP courses in those subjects are good but it’s not going to harm you if you don’t take them.

Good luck.

Donna asks…

I want to go to dentistry school but…?

i don’t know what college i should go to for my undergrad. My two choices are Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and University of Georgia (UGA). I want to major in chemical engineering at tech and some kind of engineering at UGA (i want to major in engineering so i can be an engineer if dentistry school doesn’t work out). So here are the pros and cons:

Georgia Tech
Pros: Amazing engineering program and one of the top public universities. i loooooove the campus
Cons: students’ GPAs are usually really low because the classes are hard. I need a 3.6+ GPA for dentistry school. I think that’s pretty hard to get at tech

UGA
Pros: easier than Tech so i can get a pretty good GPA
Cons: i don’t like the campus a lot. and it’s the nation’s no. 1 party school (i don’t like drunkies)

So which one seems better? Do dentistry schools care what 4 year university you went to?

Getting a high GPA as an engineering major will be tough no matter which school you go to.
Pick the school whose environment you think you like better. Go visit them, and see if you can sit in on a few classes. That willl help you get an idea of what it would be like to actually attend.

Help, I need help with a problem? It’s about ignorance?

Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and soccer games and romances and best friends and favorite foods and secret fears and hopes and dreams.

A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

Men use restrooms for purely biological reasons. Women use restrooms as social lounges. Men in a restrooms will never speak a word to each other. Women who’ve never met will leave a restroom giggling together like old friends. And never in the history of the world has a man excused himself from a restaurant table by saying, “Hey, Tom, I was just about to take a leak. Do you want to join me?”

Men are vain; they will check themselves out in a mirror. Women are ridiculous; they will check out their reflections in any, shiny surface: mirrors, spoons, store windows, bald boyfriend’s/father’s heads.

Menopause: When a woman reaches menopause, she goes through a variety of complicated emotional, psychological, biological Changes. Nature provokes a uniform reaction in men. He buys aviator glasses, a snazzy French cap and leather driving gloves, and goes shopping for a Porsche.

Richard Gere:
Women like Richard Gere because he is sexy in a dangerous way. Men hate Richard Gere because lie reminds them of that slick guy who works at the health club and dates only married women.

Madonna:
Same as above, but reversed. Same reason.

Toys:
Little girls love to play with toys. Then when they reach the age of 11 or 12, they lose interest. Men never grow out of their obsession with toys. As they get older, their toys simply become more expensive and silly and impractical. Examples of men’s toys: little miniature TVs. Cell phones. Complicated juicers and blenders. Graphic equalizers. Small robots that serve cocktails on command. Video games. Anything that blinks, beeps, and requires at least six big batteries to operate.

Locker Rooms:
In the locker room men talk about three things: money, football, and women. They exaggerate about money, they don’t know football nearly as well as they think they do, and they fabricate stories about women. Women talk about one thing in the locker room: sex. And not in abstract terms, either. They are extremely graphic and technical, and they never lie.

Movies:
Every actress in the history of movies has had to do a nude scene. This is because every movie in the history of movies has been produced by a man. Men will only show their arse, because arse size doesn’t really matter.

Jewelry:
Women look nice when they wear jewelry. A man can get away with wearing one ring and that’s it. Any more than that and he will look like a lounge singer named Ramone.

Time:
When a woman says she’ll be ready to go out in five more minutes, she’s using the same meaning of time as when a man says the football game just has five minutes left. Neither of them is counting time outs, commercials, or replays.

Friends:
Women on a ‘girls’ night out’ talk the whole time. Men on a ‘boys’ night out’ say about 20 words all night, most of which are ‘Pass the chips’ or ‘Got am more beer?’

Toilets:
Men use toilets for purely biological reasons. Women use toilets as social lounges. Men in toilets will never speak a word to each other. Women who’ve never met will leave a toilet giggling together like old friends. And never in the history of the world has a man excused himself from a restaurant table by saying, ‘Hey Tom, I, was just about to take a leak. Do you want to join me
Yes, I know, it is verrryyyyy long lol.

NICKNAMES
If Gloria, Suzanne, Debra and Michelle go out for lunch, they will call each other Gloria, Suzanne, Debra and Michelle.

But if Mike, Phil, Rob and Jack go out for a brewsky, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla, Peanut-Head and Useless.

EATING OUT
And when the check comes, Mike, Phil, Rob and Jack will each throw in $20 bills, even though it’s only for $22.50. None of them will have anything smaller, and none will actually admit they want change back.

When the girls get their check, out come the pocket calculators.

BATHROOMS
A man has five items in his bathroom-a toothbrush, shaving cream, razor, a bar of Dial soap, and a towel from the Holiday Inn.

The average number of items in the typical woman’s bathroom is 437. A man would not be able to identify most of these items.

GROCERIES
A woman makes a list of things she needs and then goes out to the store and buys these things.

A man waits till the only items left in his fridge are half a lime and a soda. Then he goes grocery shopping. He buys everything that looks good. By the time a man reaches the checkout counter, his cart is packed tighter than the Clampett’s car on Beverly Hillbillies. Of course, this will not stop him from going to the 10-items-or-less lane.

SHOES
When preparing for work, a woman will put on a Mondi wool suit, then slip on Reebok sneakers. She will carry her dress shoes in a plastic bag from Saks. When a woman gets to work, she will put on her dress shoes. Five minutes later, she will kick them off because her feet are under the desk.

A man will wear the same pair of shoes all day.

CATS
Women love cats.

Men say they love cats, but when women aren’t looking, men kick cats.

DRESSING UP
A woman will dress up to: go shopping, water the plants, empty the garbage, answer the phone, read a book, get the mail.

A man will dress up for: weddings, funerals.

LAUNDRY
Women do laundry every couple of days.

This is a myth perpetuated by re-runs of old episodes of “Love, American Style.”

OFFSPRING
Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and soccer games and romances and best friends and favorite foods and secret fears and hopes and dreams.

A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Good material. Two women are talking, one says to the other,”Aren’t you wearing your wedding band on the wrong finger?” Yes, she replied, I married the wrong man.”

Marriage is like stepping into a bathtub of hot water. After you have been in it awhile, it ain’t so hot.

Falling in love is like peeing in your pants. Everyone can see the spot, but only you can feel the warmth.

Sharon asks…

wot do u think?

Relationships
When a relationship ends, a woman will cry and pour her heart out to her girlfriends, and she will write a poem titled “All Men Are Idiots”. Then she will get on with her life.

A man has a little more trouble letting go. Six months after the break-up, at 3:00 a.m. on a Saturday night, he will call and say, “I just wanted to let you know you ruined my life, and I’ll never forgive you, and I hate you, and you’re a total floozy. But I want you to know that there’s always a chance for us”. This is known as the “I Hate You / I Love You” drunken phone call, that 99% of all men have made at least once. There are community colleges that offer courses to help men get over this need; alas, these classes rarely prove effective.

Maturity
Women mature much faster than men. Most 17-year-old females can function as adults. Most 17-year-old males are still trading baseball cards and giving each other wedgies after gym class. This is why high school romances rarely work out.

Handwriting
To their credit, men do not decorate their penmanship. They just chicken- scratch. Women use scented, colored stationary and they dot their “i’s” with circles and hearts. Women use ridiculously large loops in their “p’s” and “g’s”. It is a royal pain to read a note from a woman. Even when she’s dumping you, she’ll put a smiley face at the end of the note.

Bathrooms
A man has six items in his bathroom – a toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of Dial soap, and a towel from the Holiday Inn. The average number of items in the typical woman’s bathroom is 437. A man would not be able to identify most of these items.

Groceries
A woman makes a list of things she needs and then goes to the store and buys these things. A man waits till the only items left in his fridge are half a lime and a beer. When a woman gets to work, she will put on her dress shoes. Five minutes later she will kick them off because her feet are under the desk. A man will wear the same pair of shoes all day.

Leg Warmers
A woman, even if she’s walking the dog or doing the dishes, is allowed to wear leg warmers. She can wear them any time she wants. A man can only wear leg warmers if he is auditioning for the “Gimme the Ball” number in “A Chorus Line.”

Going Out
When a man says he is ready to go out, it means he is ready to go out. When a woman says she is ready to go out, it means she will be ready to go out, as soon as she finds her earring, finishes putting on her makeup…

Cats
Women love cats. Men say they love cats, but when women aren’t looking, men kick cats.

Offspring
Ah!, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and soccer games and romances and best friends and favorite foods and secret fears and hopes and dreams. A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

This is a myth perpetuated by re-runs of old episodes of “Love, American Style.”

Socks
Men wear sensible socks. They wear standard white sweatsocks. Women wear strange socks. Socks that are cut way below the ankles, that have pictures of clouds on them, that have a big fuzzy ball on the back.

Nicknames
If Gloria, Suzanne, Deborah and Michelle get together for lunch, they will call each other Gloria, Suzanne, Deborah and Michelle. But if Mike, Dave, Rob and Jack go out for a brewsky, they will affectionately refer to each other as Bullet-Head, Godzilla, Peanut-Brain and Useless.

Eating Out
… and when the check comes, Mike, Dave, Rob and Jack will each throw in $20 bills, even though it’s only for $22.50. None of them will have anything smaller, and none will actually admit they want change back. When the girls get their check, out come the pocket calculators.

Mirrors
Men are vain; they will always check themselves out in a mirror. Women are ridiculous; they will check out their reflections in any shiny surface: mirrors, spoons, car windows, store windows, toasters, Joe Garagiola’s head.

The Telephone
Men see the telephone as a communication tool. They use the telephone to send short messages to other people. A woman can visit her girlfriend for two weeks, and upon returning home, she will call the same friend and they will talk for three hours.

Directions
If a woman is out driving, and she finds herself in unfamiliar surroundings, she will stop at a gas station and ask for directions. Men consider this to be a sign of weakness. Men will never stop and ask for directions. Men will drive in a circle for hours, all the while saying things like, “Looks like I’ve found a new way to get there.” and, “I know I’m in the general neighborhood. I recognize that 7-11 store.”

Admitting Mistakes
Women will sometimes admit making a mistake. The last man who admitted he was wrong was General George Custer.

Toys
Little girls love to play with toys. Then when they reach the age of 11 or 12, they lose interest. Men never grow out of their obsession with toys. As they get older, their toys simply become more expensive and silly and impractical. Examples of men’s toys: little miniature TV’s. Car phones. Complicated juicers and blenders. Graphic equalizers. Small robots that serve cocktails on command. Video games. Anything that blinks, beeps, and requires at least 6 “D” batteries to operate.

Plants
A woman asks a man to water her plants while she is on vacation. The man waters the plants. The woman comes home five or six days later to an apartment full of dead plants. No one knows why this happens.

Cameras
Men take photography very seriously. They’ll shell out $4000 for state of the art equipment, and build dark rooms and take photography classes. Women purchase Kodak Instamatics. Of course women always end up taking better pictures.

Jewelry
Women look nice when they wear jewelry. A man can get away with wearing one ring and that’s it. Any more than that and he will look like a lounge singer.

Your Questions About Dentist Salary

Sandy asks…

which are the better careers, and what is the salary of a general dentist?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Dentist’s earnings vary according to location, type of practice, and the individual’s number of years in practice. Dentists who specialize, such as oral surgeons and periodontists, and those who work in large urban areas generally have the highest earnings. Nationally, the estimated median net income of general dentists is $140,000. A median net income of prosthodontal dentists is around $240,000. An implant dentist makes…enough.

Thomas asks…

since the hospital is apparently a bad idea for a field trip, how about a doctors or dentist office?

Theres no death, dying, or anything disturbing going on, or any germs. Its just people getting checkups, nurses who do all the work while the doctor just goes around, dresses in normal clothes, and asks the patients if they have any questions. Give the doctor/Dentist something to do for the salary they recieve.

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

How about a trip to the firehouse or the library? The dentist office would be ok as a destination – just to see what goes on, what the tools do, etc, however – I don’t see the point to sending children on a field trip to experience something that they should be doing anyhow… A field trip should expose children to something that they wouldn’t necessarily see on a normal basis – museums and dinosaur bones — that kind of thing. If my daughter brought home a permission slip to go to a doctor’s or a dentist office I wouldn’t let her go… Why are they going? What’s the educational value of the trip? It’s obviously not ‘just for fun’ so I would be hesitant – sounds weird to me.

Robert asks…

Cosmetic Dentists Salary?

What is the average salary for a first year cosmetic dentist and what is the salary of a cosmetic dentist thats not a first year?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

It depends on many factors: location, experience, whether they work for someone else or if they are a solo-practitioner, what types of cosmetic procedures they are doing and the economy. Cosmetic Dentistry is not a recognized speciality, usually a “Cosmetic Dentist” is a general dentist that has chosen to focus their practice on procedures that are generally cosmetic in nature (ie. Crowns, Veneers, Full-Mouth Reconstruction, Whitening). There is a speciality known as Prosthodontics that is a recognized speciality that does many of these procedures and they have had much more advanced training in these areas. A Specialist can demand a higher salary than a general “Cosmetic” Dentist. I guess to answer your question, on average, a first year dentist will make between $70,000 to 100,000 (at least that is in the NorthEast).
Hope this helps!

Ken asks…

I want to become a Dentist….are Dentists in high demand in the UAE, with High Salary….?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Girl, you are 16 years old. Means you have a very long way to go before you become an experienced dentist to demand a high salary in the UAE. Most western dentists here are specilized in their field, i. Implantology, etc. Beside doing regular dentist work.

Ask again in 10 – 15 years:)

Your Questions About Dentistry

Lisa asks…

how many college credits do you need to graduate with a BS degree in pre dentistry?

im just starting college this year, im taking a load of biology and chemistry classes because i plan on majoring in these areas, to get ready for dental school. im going into pre-dentistry.
im taking 12-13 credits this semester
i plan on taking 18 next semester, 18 in the summer, and 18 in fall and spring of the following 2009 year. thats a whopping total of 85 credits if im right…
which means that in two years i could have my Associates degree in pre dentistry, is that right?

im confused though, about how many credits i neeed to get a B.S. degree in pre dentistry. isnt it around 120-130?
and is it possible for me to get my B.S. degree in 3 years flat…if i work my ass offf and get 18 credits per semester?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

It is possible to graduate in three years, if you take a full load and don’t mess up. Many students average four to five years to graduate with a BS. The college you are at has specific information about how many credits it requires for a particular degree.

Some words of warning. Many colleges will not allow you to take 18 credits over the summer, or consider dentistry as an actual degree. Some dental schools will accept you before graduation and admit you based upon your qualifications.

Jenny asks…

What major should I take for a career in dentistry?

What major should I take for a career in dentistry?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Doesn’t matter too much. Like most of the medical field professional schools, they don’t care what you major in. Just take the prerequisite courses.

Michael asks…

Does the Program im in Matter as to how likely i will be accepted into Dentistry?

Im in Health Sciences and will be applying to dentistry. Does Dentistry prefer certain programs over others like say bio medicine? Will i be more likely to get into dentistry with bio med then health sciences?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Dental schools accept all academic majors and do not necessarily give preference to any particular major. They like a student body which represents a variety of majors.

Steven asks…

I have an MA in English but am now interested in switching my career to dentistry. How can I do that in NY/NJ?

I did not take many science courses as an undergrad, and did not take any in my Master’s program. How can I get into dentistry? Also, please let me know where I may start a program (inexpensively) in either NY or NJ. Thanks!

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

You are looking at at least 2 years of university level pre-reqs in the science that you need to take–you will need to go to a decent university for these. Then you will need to take the dentistry admit exam. An adviser at the university can help you with that. After that you can apply to dental schools; about 4 years. This is a clinical doctorate level education and none will be cheap.

Donna asks…

explain the concept of studying dentistry in the usa?

i just finished high school and im planning on studying dentistry. but from what ive read on the internet, youve got to have a major of any kind before dental school? ? would someone explain this to me please?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

1. Get a BA/BS in any majors, preferably, a science major (bio/chem), since a science major will cover all of the class requirement for dental schools.

2. Take DAT exam

3. Do volunteer works in medical fields

4. Ace the interview

Your Questions About Dentistry Schools

Maria asks…

Do I need to take Calculus 2 to get into University of Michigan School of Dentistry?

My goal is to be an orthodontist and go through the dental and orthodontist programs at U of M. I was required to take Calculus 1 for my major (biology) but I don’t know if I should drop Calc 2 or stay in it.

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Calc 2 is the hardest calc class above many (lower division courses). If you don’t need it, it most likely will hurt your GPA.

Calc2 is harder than calc 3 <-comparable to calc 1 , and diff of eq (calc 4) <-this is the easiest of them all.

Chris asks…

how hard is to get into howard’s school of dentistry?

i am currently a junior in college and i know that it is about time for me to start applying to dental schools. Howard is my first choice. how difficult is it to get in?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

I have never heard of Howard’s School of Dentistry, but it sounds an awful lot like Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. XD

My advice, just as an outsider, I would look online and talk to people who have got into the school and see what they had to do to get in. Ask them what credentials they had, what kind of GPA, and all that fun stuff.

Honestly, the most important and best way to get into any school is be smart and be able to get along with others.

For you, know teeth!

If you don’t know where to look to find people in schools, I would try some social networking Web sites, such as Facebook or MySpace. These Web sites have features that can let you look at people (alumni and current students) who went to the school. Especially MySpace, and just send them a message and ask them about it. I’m not sure if this school will be listed, but if it is, try it!

Your Questions About Dentist Salary

Ruth asks…

What kind of classes should I take in high school to be a pediatric doctor or dentist?

im in 9th grade, but starting to think about college.
Can you tell me the differences between a pediatric doctor and a pediatric dentist?

*The different salaries
*What classes should I take in high school?
*How many years of college for each
*What classes do I take in college?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Well, pediatric means children. So a doctor would be someone who diagnoses and assess health of children, and a dentist would take care of their teeth and such.

It depends on where you live, both would make great salaries, I assume. Go to payscale.com or salary.com and look up whatever you want.

Take challenging math courses like calculus and such. Lots of sciences like anatomy, chemistry, biology, and anything else health or body related. Find out if your school offers AP classes for college credit.

Medical school is required for both professions, that’s four years. But before you go to med school, you must take four years of pre med, so you’re looking at eight or more years of college. There is also training and such before you may be eligible to get a medical license and begin independent work.

Your college academic adviser will guide you through picking all your classes throughout your college career.

David asks…

who’s salary is more equine dentist or a farrier?

help please

i live in pa

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Good morning Lynette
Dentists charge $65 to $125 per head depending on the work done (wolf teeth removal costs more than a float) and you only usually have them do work maybe twice per year. So they get paid well but they have to build up a large client base so that they have work thoroughout the year.
Farriers charge $15 for a trim to $400 for shoe shoes and are needed every 4 to 6 weeks at least, more frequently if they are show horses or race horses because their shoes get swapped out more often, road shoes to plates for example. A farrier that gets the job on a breeding farm with 40 mares will make $600 per visit just doing trims. That $7200 a year just from one farm so if you got a few jobs like that, the money can be quite good. People will always pay more too for hot shoes and decent shoe shows.

Mandy asks…

Entry level salary for a dentist ?

Please provide source information. :]

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

According to the American Dental Association, the average general dentist made 185,000 in 2004, the average dental specialist made 315,000.

Most dentist have there own place of practice though.

George asks…

What is more difficult to become a dentist or a pharmacist?

Also keep in mind the costs of becoming a dentist and a pharmacist and even the salary which one would you rather be in the long run?

I know dentists make more but it also is harder and costs more so which one is better overall?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

You can not really say which one is more difficult to become, because anybody’s answer will be biased. Graduate school for pharmacist usually takes 3 years and results in a doctorate degree. And graduate school for dentistry usually takes 4 years and results in a D.M. Or D.D.S. Graduate school for both is very difficult, challenging and expensive. But usually a dentistry program will leave you with more loans to pay off than a pharmacy program. The job outlook for pharmacist is better than the job outlook for dentist. Good Luck.

What courses do i need to do for dentistry or GP?

I am now in high school,in year 10.
My plan for my future is to move onto medicine, perhaps dentistry or being a GP.
what courses would i need to take in college ? I know you do need to go university to get a degree, but i think its best to concertrate on the near future. Will i need to take biology and chemistry?Or other courses?

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Of course the best courses which are relavant with medicine or dentistry are biology – chemistry – maths or physics. Many universities prefer these courses. Bear in your mind, now 3 courses in many universities are not enough and you need some more courses perhaps maths and physics, many of them need strong grade english courses as well.

Mandy asks…

I want to move to Australia to study Dentistry?

I am a 16 year old Bulgarian, I’ve been living in UK for 5 years. I’m planning to move to Australia to study Dentistry after I finish my A levels, which would be after 2 years. I would be very likely to become a British citizen in the mean time. Can someone please give me an advice on what to do, how to start preparing. Just any advice it would be very helpful. I am considering going to Sydney Perth, Adelaide or Brisbane.

Best Cosmetic Dentists answers:

Be aware that you will have to pay university fees. Being a British citizen and not having Permanent Residence visa in Australia means that you will be classified as an international student and so you will be looking at paying full fees for your course.

The annual tuition fees can are $50,000+ annually, for dentistry or medicine. Plus you will need to have around $20,000 annually for living expenses.

One example of fees is found here:

http://www17.griffith.edu.au/cis/p_cat/fees.asp?ProgCode=1259&FeeType=International

If you are able to afford these costs, then all you have to do is go to the relevant university’s website and determine the application process for international students.

Hope this helps.
